Beer , Bands and BBQ

On July four, America  will be celebrating 241 years of the birth of our nation. It is also an appropriate time to recognize and thank our country’s military for their sacrifices to protect our Constitution and its forerunner, the Declaration of Independence.

This year you may thank our service men and women by attending and supporting Grandville’s Beer, Bands and BBQ held on Monday, July 3 from 4 pm -11 pm where a portion of the proceeds will go to local West Michigan Veterans. Members of the American Legion Post 459 and VFW Post 702 will be providing volunteers and the American Legion Post 179 are hosting a meet and greet with the founders of the Human Hug Project from 8 pm – 10 pm.

The Human Hug Projects mission is to bring awareness to P. T. S. D. by giving love back to humanity, one hug at a time. Ian Michael is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Gino Greganti is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. Erin Greganti is a Marine Corps wife who experienced war and its aftermath at home. Together they know the anxiety and isolation faced by combat veterans who have returned home from war – because they faced it in their own lives.

Presented by the Grandville Jenison Chamber, the event is held on Washington Street between Maple and Chicago Drive on Monday, July 3rd from 4 pm – 11 pm. Charlie Rockits , Classic Rock, Oldies, Motown & Country will provide music from 5 pm – 7 pm and Slick Willy’s a 90’s Cover Band will play from 7 pm – 11 pm.  A variety of food vendors, including a food truck, domestic & craft beer, wine and ciders will also be available. Admission into the tent is free and all our welcome to attend from 4 pm – 8 pm, must be 21 after 8 pm.  More information [email protected] or call 616.531.8890.
