Sydney Swenson, daughter of Mary Swenson is the recipient of the $1000 Ted terHaar Business Scholarship.
A Jenison High School Student, Sydney will be attending Loyola University in Chicago studying advertising and public relations. A standout in Jenison DECA, she has also has been part of Jenison Peer Educators, Cheerleading, Golf and Soccer. “Oxygen is to Life, as Communication is to Business” was the title of her essay which highlighted the importance of communication in business.
“Sydney is an exceptional young woman and a great asset to have in class. I strongly recommend her to be chosen for the Ted terHaar Business Scholarship” Jordan Whittecar, Business Teacher, DECA Advsisor, Jenison High School .
Sydney will be recognized at the Chamber’s Community Awards Reception held on Thursday, April 27. The event is open to the public.
