Martin Rogalski to receive the distinguished “Michael S. Barnes Award”.

“This award is given annually by Legal Aid of Western Michigan to the West Michigan lawyer who has given exceptional service to the cause of equal justice on behalf of the poor. It is given in memory of Michael S. Barnes, distinguished Grand Rapids lawyer who gave tirelessly on behalf of the poor.”

Legal Aid of Western Michigan along with Smith Haughey are pleased to host the Michael Barnes Award ceremony. This cordial event will take place on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at City Flats – Ballroom. COMPLIMENTARY DINNER BUFFET and BEVERAGES will be served.

 

Martin L. Rogalski has been serving West Michigan since 1979.  Martin received his law degree from the Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University College of Law) and his undergraduate degree from Aquinas College.  As a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Federal Bar for the Western District of Michigan, Martin is able to practice in all Michigan Courts, state and federal as well as the appellate courts and the Supreme Court of Michigan.  In addition, Martin is admitted to practice before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.  Martin is a Board Certified Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification, specializing in debt relief through Chapter 13, Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12.

In addition, Martin belongs to the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, which is dedicated to protecting the rights of consumer debtors in bankruptcy.  Martin has filed thousands of bankruptcy cases over his 38 year

career and is dedicated to advancing the field of bankruptcy law.  Martin is the former President of, and he currently serves on, the Board of Directors of the Debtors Bar of West Michigan, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and maintaining the highest standard for all bankruptcy law practitioners.

Martin is a firm believer in giving back to the community.  Martin serves on the Board of Directors at the Legal Aid of Western Michigan, an organization that provides free legal services for non-criminal cases to low income and elderly citizens in the area.  Martin is a current board member of Kenowa AMBUCS.  Martin is a former board member of the Polish Falcons Aid Society of Grand Rapids, St. Pius X Finance Council, and the Jenison Public Education Foundation.

Martin is the owner of Martin L. Rogalski, P.C.  Martin is acknowledged as an industry leader among his peers, regularly receiving referrals from other attorneys to handle unique and complex cases.  Martin is recognized for his excellence and experience across all his services, speaking at conventions and continued education seminars.  In 2008 and 2009 Martin was named “Michigan Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers magazine.
